Event Questions
Why is this event no longer on Thanksgiving Morning?
This year, the Walk to End Hunger is celebrating the entire month of No Hunger November. Hunger doesn't just last one day - and this year, neither does the Walk to End Hunger. In order to avoid a large group gathering, the Walk to End Hunger will have a Walk to End Hunger walk route along the Mall of America throughout the entire month of November.
Gather your family, friends and team together to attend together anytime the Mall is open to learn about hunger in Minnesota, get cool prizes, and have some fun while giving back to those experiencing hunger right in your own community.
What if I'm not comfortable visiting the Mall of America?
You're welcome to "walk" however you'd like!
Here are some ideas:
- Walk around one of the many lakes in the Twin Cities metro!
- Take a walk around the block with your family and friends!
- Head over to the Mall of America before they open to walk around the Mall before the crowds! But remember, the Mall of America is closed on Thanksgiving!
- Walk around the grocery store and grab some items to donate to our of our partner organizations!
You can "walk" however you'd like this year - just make sure to use #walktoendhunger to let us know how you're doing it!
When can I go do the Walk to End Hunger?
You can visit the Walk to End Hunger Walk Route anytime the Mall of America is open from November 1st - November 30th, 2021.

Will there be a virtual program?
There will not be a new virtual Walk to End Hunger program this year, but we are excited to welcome you back to the Mall of America anytime throughout November to learn more about hunger in Minnesota along the Walk to End Hunger Walk Route.
The 2020 Virtual Walk to End Hunger is still available to view and will be available to stream on our website, Facebook or Youtube channel if you'd like to watch with your family on Thanksgiving this year.
Participating virtually? Fill out the virtual participant passport to win a $250 Mall of America gift card!
I volunteered in the past, are there any volunteer opportunities still?
Stay tuned for potential volunteer opportunities.
Is the Walk Route going to be family-friendly?
Absolutely! While hunger is a very serious issue in our state, we want to make sure the children who are participating get the opportunity to learn more about the issue, all while having some fun. For information about the Walk to End Hunger route and activities, click here.
Donation Questions
Where do the funds from the Walk go?
Since its inception in 2008, the Walk to End Hunger has raised over $3 million to help support hunger relief organizations working to eliminate hunger in the Twin Cities metro area! 100% of the net proceeds are distributed to our partner organizations. You can see a full list of these organizations here.
Do I have to raise $100 to be able to register?
No, we suggest a goal of $100 per person to increase your impact on helping the 1 in 9 Minnesotans who struggle to put food on their tables.
Are donations on the website secure?
Yes, all donation and registration information on our website is secure. When you get to a screen that asks for private information (contact and payment information), you will see that it shifts to a https://secure site.
I have received some donations in the form of checks or cash, what should I do with them?
You can mail the checks into us at: Walk to End Hunger, 555 Park St. Ste 400, St. Paul, MN 55103. Please enclose a note for us with your name, or team name, so we can credit the donations to you. Print off the Offline Donation Form to make it easier!
