Hunger doesn't just last one day, and this year niether does the Walk to End Hunger.
This year, the Walk to End Hunger is back to celebrate efforts being made to errdicate hunger in the twin cities by welcoming you back to give back anytime the Mall of America is open throughout the month of November (except on Thanksgiving morning).
What is the Walk to End Hunger?
The Walk to End Hunger is a peer-to-peer fundraising walk historically held on Thanksgiving Day at the Mall of America. In the past, over 5,000 Minnesotans gathered at the Mall of America to give back, before giving thanks.
This year, due to the uncertainty around the COVID-19 variants and to avoid large gatherings, the Walk to End Hunger will take place for the entire month of “No Hunger November” with a Walk to End Hunger route installed along the Mall of America for participants to visit and walk anytime that works for them and their families. Participants will register and begin peer-to-peer fundraising efforts for the Walk to End Hunger starting October 1, and will be encouraged to visit the Mall of America to Walk to End Hunger anytime from November 1 – November 30, 2021.
Since it's inception in 2008, the Walk to End Hunger has raised over $3,000,000 to help support hunger relief organizations working to eliminate hunger in the Twin Cities metro area. 100% of the net proceeds are distributed to our partner organizations.
The Walk to End Hunger is presented by the Minnesota Hunger Initiative (formerly the Twin Cities Hunger Initiative), a collaboration of hunger relief partner agencies that have developed a definitive plan to eliminate hunger in the Twin Cities and across the state of Minnesota.
